Apple Distinguished Schools Program - 2025-2028

We’re pleased to be recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2025-2028 for inspiring, imagining, and impacting teaching and learning schoolwide through continuous innovation.

Schools apply and are selected for this distinction based on their commitment to continuous innovation in education and using Apple products to inspire, imagine, and impact teaching and learning.

Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of leadership and educational excellence, with a clear vision for how technology-rich environments support learning goals. In Apple Distinguished Schools, forward-thinking leaders and their communities work to inspire, imagine, and impact teaching and learning, and they have documented results of academic accomplishments.

Schools all over the world are using iPad and Mac to transform learning. As teachers incorporate technology into their lessons, they empower students to lead, learn, and thrive, to discover new opportunities, and to make their world a better place.

Our Story

Not all students have access to the same tools at home, but through our one-to-one program, we level the playing field at school, providing everyone with access to equipment and resources. Through available tools and support to use them effectively, students and staff are empowered to collaborate, be creative, and make the most of differentiated instruction.

Inspire

Teaching and learning at Preparatory Academy go beyond academics. We focus on educating and developing the whole child, and opportunities for building character and leadership capacity are embedded throughout the school day. We set the tone for each day by reciting the campus values through the morning announcements. Teachers encourage their students during regular classes and homeroom, building self-confidence, promoting collaboration, and inspiring students to get involved inside and outside of the classroom. The homeroom period positioned mid-way through the day provides additional time for students to discuss with a mentor values, responsibilities and other important topics.

Imagine

Innovation is engrained in our culture, and our use of technology drives us forward. Through available tools and support to use them effectively, students and staff are empowered to collaborate and to think outside the box to develop new solutions. Teachers are encouraged to be creative, differentiating instruction for students with diverse learning styles. Students are exposed to various tools in their classes and get to broaden their horizons through enrichment activities like 3D printing, popsicle stick architecture and more. Both groups are also called upon to provide feedback and serve on committees to explore future technologies and initiatives.

Impact

All students can be successful, and our campus environment supports this. Not all students have access to the same tools at home, but we level the playing field at school, providing everyone with access to the same equipment and resources. An inclusive community, we customize the learning experience for all types of learners. Technology amplifies these efforts, as it can be used to modify lessons, and can be coupled with additional support measures to provide a more equal education. With the ability to track and measure progress towards goals, we can make updates as needed to help every student succeed.
